We are funded by the Primary Care Trust in Brighton & Hove but have from time to time received funding support for national and international projects.
Our work is monitored by an advisory committee comprised of people with disabilities and others that support our work.
Each member was chosen for their special abilities and bring a uniqueness to our activities largely depending on a blend of their own experiences, and the culture of the town or country that they live in.
It is a unique organisational structure, and many of our meetings are virtual which means that some of the committee have never actually met each other in person – and yet they are attracted by a shared value system.
The most active members of the advisory committee do come from the UK, and our chair and directors are normally based in Brighton & Hove.
The advisory committee has 16 members who largely volunteer their time but they do get paid by the organisation if we need to contract with them for a special service.
We are currently looking for an additional member from Brighton with a broad experience in community development.
